Watch Again | HVDC for Supporting Energy Internet & Energy Integration Presented by Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang

On 24th October the UK and Ireland PES Chapter co-hosted a Distinguished Lecturer Programme webinar in conjunction with the Nigerian Society of Engineers Scotland UK Branch, and the IEEE Nigeria Power and Energy Society Chapter for the first time in the Chapter’s long history. This DLP event was called: HVDC for Supporting Energy Internet & Energy Integration presented by Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang. The event had a great attendance of 146 with 86 IEEE members.

HVDC systems are the key technology for long distance bulk power transmission. This lecture explained the historic developments of HVDC technologies. Also the speaker talked about the applications of HVDC and HVDC grid technologies in renewable energy integration as well as energy distribution.

Professor Xiao-Ping Zhang  also explained the future developments in the contexts of energy internet and energy integration. Finally, the presenter did a  brief review of the emerging HVDC technologies.
