Section ExCOM and Chapter Chairs’ Hybrid Meeting – October 2021

After 2 years online, it was great to be back meeting in-person for the October 2021 ExCOM and Chapter Chairs’ Meeting.  The setting was the iconic BT Tower in London with its spectacular views across London.  The meeting was held in a hybrid form, enabling those unable to travel to also join.

Both ExCOM and Chapter Chairs presented their activity during 2021 to the meeting.  Due to the pandemic, face-to-face meetings had been replaced by many online events, particularly from the Power and Energy Society, Blockchain and Women in Engineering; all of which had been particularly active.

It was noted that many of the online events had been recorded and were available to watch again on the Section website, providing more opportunity for member engagement.

The afternoon session concluded with an online panel session entitled “Future Directions of Communications: Vision, Standards and Requirements” with participants from both industry and academic research.
