Report | UK & Ireland PES Chapter Annual General Meeting
On Tuesday 1st December the IEEE UK & Ireland PES chapter had its General Annual Meeting (AGM) this year with an online format due to COVID restrictions.
After the welcomes and introductions, the Chapter Chair (Panagiotis Papadopoulos) started the event congratulating the team for achieving the Region 8 Chapter of the year award’ in its large chapter category. This award is designed to recognise the outstanding performance by Technical Chapters in serving their members and the technical community and establishing goodwill within and between the Region 8 Sections. Considering that IEEE Region 8 over 1000 technical Chapters and Student Branch Chapters, it is without any doubt an immense achievement and privilege to receive this recognition.
The next point in the agenda was the review of the activities and events organised over the year and lessons learned. This discussion also helped to prepare PES chapter 2020 report.
The event carried on with the committee elections and role assignment for next year. Find below the UK & Ireland PES Chapter Committee for 2021:

The final point on the agenda was the Outstanding Volunteer Award ceremony. It was announced that Eduardo Audiche is the 2020 recipient of this important recognition. Eduardo has been performing two demanding roles during this year, being a key individual in the two important Chapter accolades received in 2020; the High Performing Chapter Award and Region 8 Chapter of the Year Award.
