Power and Energy Society Wins Region 8 Chapter of the Year Award
IEEE UK and Ireland Power and Energy Society Chapter won ‘Region 8 Chapter of the year award’ in its large chapter category.
IEEE Region 8 has over 1000 technical Chapters and Student Branch Chapters running exciting technical events and connecting the members to the resources of Societies, Sections and the Region.
This award is designed to recognise the outstanding performance by Technical Chapters in serving their members and the technical community and establishing goodwill within and between the Region 8 Sections. The selection is based on the outstanding performance of the nominated Chapter, reflected by the completed nomination form and supporting documents.
IEEE UK and Ireland PES Chapter has been committed to organising a series of technical and professional events to provide its members a platform for presenting new ideas, and engaging in networking activities. The PES Chapter has also continued initiatives taken in past few years in encouraging existing members who may be eligible for Senior Member grade.
All the hard work was recognised earlier this year through the IEEE PES High Performing Chapter Program. US$ 880.00 was awarded to the Chapter as an encouragement towards future work, as well as an important recognition of their continued effort in providing better services to the members and public, particularly, young people in universities and workplaces.
Now Region 8 has awarded the UK and Ireland PES Chapter the maximum recognition and represents an even higher commitment in providing PES members with as many benefits as possible.
Congratulations to all committee members and volunteers; especially to current and past Chairs who have made it possible through their leadership .
