IEEE Computer Society Golden Core Award for Former Section ExCom Member

IEEE UK and Ireland Section sends its congratulations to Dr Cyril Onwubiko, former secretary and ExCom member, on his IEEE Computer Society Golden Core Award.

Dr Onwubiko commented:

I am deeply humbled, and grateful to our 2023 CS President Nita Patel, and our 2024 CS President Jyotika Athavale for the CS Golden Core award in recognition for a life of dedication and service, which am thankful for.

The award is no doubt a moment of joy, but the real joy is seeing the impact our collective actions make to our members, communities and society. Seeing lives transformed, existing technologies expanded and new frontiers discovered for the advancement of humanity gives me the greatest joy.

As Winston Churchill said “We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give”. Let’s make ‘life’ by giving of our time and dedication to service.
