The Workshop on Engineering Education Research aims to share the expertise of leading academics in engineering pedagogy. This workshop will be part of the UK China Emerging Technologies (UCET) Conference, delivered virtually and organised by the University of Glasgow, UK. The workshop will cover topics pertaining the effectiveness of engineering education, including community engineering education, the implementation of active learning techniques and the application of ICT tools to facilitate remote learning.
This talk will highlight the importance of dynamic estimation and control of power networks for their stable operation. It will discuss both centralised and decentralised options with future research challenges and opportunities highlighted.
PIMRC 2020 has become one of the two major conferences of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) in the field of wireless communications and networking. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference will be held online in 2020.
This webinar will discuss the factors that have made open source and business models essential in today’s interconnected world
Autonomous vehicles (AVs) have the potential to transform not just the technology but the sociology of our roads. In this webinar a framework for thinking in a practical, deployment oriented way about how AVs should behave around humans will be presented.
This webinar will consider the impact, present existing efforts and discuss the potential future for data harmonisation in the space industry by looking at harmonised methodologies for calibration, validation and derivation of higher level products, product certification/traceability and data interoperability.
The presentation discusses the role of Universities and Research Centres in societies where the primary production resource is knowledge
The first part of this seminar will provide an introduction to power quality concerns, by reviewing definitions, standards, sources of power quality problems, and available mitigating solutions. In the second part, an overview of ongoing research projects in this area will be provided. The main topics addressed are: modelling of power electronics converters for harmonic assessment, harmonic mitigation, deep learning applied to power quality analytics, power quality in dc microgrids and power quality assessment for tidal energy projects.
As an introduction to peer to peer trading, this webinar is designed to discuss the technological basis for peer to peer trading with autonomous contracts.
