PIMRC 2020 has become one of the two major conferences of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) in the field of wireless communications and networking. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this conference will be held online in 2020.
This talk will address evolution of cellular technologies towards 5G but will largely focus on various security challenges and opportunities introduced by SDN/NFV and 5G networks such as Hypervisor, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), SDN controller, orchestrator, network slicing, cloud RAN, edge cloud, and security function virtualisation.
This talk will provide a brief overview of advances in transitioning from cognition to intelligence in communications networks, with emphasis on the features of 5G, as well as on the envisioned 6G wireless.
Data communications between Earth and spacecrafts, such as satellites, have traditionally been carried out through dedicated links. Shared links using Internet Protocol-based communication offers a number of advantages over dedicated links, however, the movement of spacecrafts gives rise to mobility management issues. This talk will discuss various mobility management solutions for extending the Internet connection to spacecrafts.
Fifth International Conference on Computing, Electronics and Communications Engineering 2022 (iCCECE '22) is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE United Kingdom and Ireland Section and will draw together researchers and developers from academia and industry.
The panel discuss the current and future direction of wired and wireless communications technologies, their supporting standardisation activities, and their requirements.

One of the key drivers for next-generation mobile communications is the support of the Internet of Things (IoT), with billions of objects connected to the Internet and very low latency. This Distinguished Lecture investigates the integration of satellite technology and IoT, considering different architectures and sensor technologies as NB-IoT, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and SigFox.
