Instrumentation and Measurements Chapter
Welcome to the IEEE UK and Ireland Instrumentation and Measurements Chapter.
The Instrumentation and Measurement (I&M) Chapter was formed in the early 2000s with the intention to serve the growing instrumentation and measurement society membership in the UK and Ireland Section. Its mission has been to pursue and introduce the latest developments in the field to its membership.
The I&M Chapter, like a number of other Chapters in the UK and Ireland Section, spans a wide range of activities and by nature of the subject is truly cross disciplinary. It covers areas related to the whole spectrum of sensors, integration of sensors, data conditioning, data acquisition and conversion, experimental setups, noise and EMC, digital signal and image processing, all the way to RF and electromechanical and electrobiological systems and algorithms that are fundamental to effective measurement systems.
This Chapter is aimed at researchers, practitioners and academics working the field of I&M, but not limited to this as it covers such a wide spectrum of disciplines and activities, including integration of both hardware and software implementations and algorithmic level innovations.
The activities of the I&M Chapter are very often interdisciplinary and shared events with other UK and Ireland Chapters providing regular lecture based activities, to mini workshops and occasionally inviting Distinguished lecturers from the IEEE.
It is our mission to have more of our membership getting involved in setting up solo or joint activities for the Chapter in the future and all volunteers that want to help and participate are welcome to contact the Chapter Chair.
