Welcome to the IEEE UK and Ireland Information Theory Chapter.
Our mission is to be the professional home for UK Engineers and Scientists working in Information Theory and applications. We aim to support Information Theory research in the UK by offering a platform to share ideas, knowledge and expertise, and to act as an enabler for UK industrial growth in the digital industry.
The Chapter endeavours to engage with both academic and industrial researchers with an interest in information theory and applications. In so doing, our objective is to foster a community that provides opportunities for collaboration and networking, particularly across academia and industry.

The Information Theory Chapter of the UK and Ireland Section is offering three category student awards ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate. The awards are based upon the evaluation of a draft thesis in an an information theory or related discipline.

Information Theory Chapter Best Thesis Prizes Awarded
As part of the Information Theory Chapter's mission to be the professional home for UK Engineers and Scientists working in Information Theory and applications, it has introduced a series of annual thesis awards ranging from undergraduate to postgraduate. The winner of each category receives a £200 award and a certificate. The annual awards have been recently announced.
